A research team led by Professor Yokono has developed a "visible light-responsive titanium oxide nanomaterial" that performs highly even under weak indoor lighting. The "visible light-responsive titanium oxide nanomaterial" was tested for its ability to decompose chemical substances (such as acetaldehyde, a cause of sick house syndrome) using indoor light, and it showed approximately four times the decomposition performance compared to commonly used nitrogen-doped titanium oxide.
